Dear North Prairie Rural Water Consumer,
To assure proper credit of your water payment and metered usage to your account:
- Please be sure to enclose your tear off stub (the upper right hand portion of the billing statement) with your payment.
This stub has important information such as your name, account number, previous meter reading, meter number and the space to enter your
current meter reading.
- Please be sure to enter your current meter reading on the space provided on the return portion of the billing stub.
- Read your meter on or about the 1st day of each month.
When entering your water meter reading:
- Please enter all movable digits from the left to the right
(meters have either 5 or 6 movable digits).
- Please DO NOT enter the fixed zero or zeros that are on the right-hand
side of the movable digits on the water meter or the remote meters.
- The bill for your water usage is always one month behind. This means that the meter reading that you enter this month
(for instance April) will not actually be billed to you until May.
- If we do not receive a water meter reading in any month, your account will be estimated according to the last 3 months
usage and a $10.00 estimated meter reading fee will be applied to the account. If we do not receive a reading for 3 or more months, a serviceman
will be sent out to your residence to obtain a current reading and your account will be charged $10.00.
If you have any questions concerning the water billing that you receive, please contact our office as soon as possible
so we can try to clear up any problems before the next bill is calculated.
Any payments and or meter readings that are received after the 15th of each month may not be processed until
the following month. Bills are usually mailed on the 29th day of each month. If you do not receive your monthly bill by the
5th of the month, please contact our office.
Thank you.
